heavy in your arms-

I have procrastinated this blog for way too long. I have saved up a pile of words over the past two days so brace yourself. This blog might be rather lengthy. I suppose I’ll start out with my review of Eclipse. First off, I love the soundtrack. The lyrics are outstanding and the vocals leave this…eerie and romantic feeling inside of you. Some of my favorite songs are My Love by Sia, Heavy In Your Arms by Florence & The Machine, and Ours by the Bravery. Howard Shore (the composer for the Lord of the Rings soundtracks) even wrote a song called Jacob’s Theme. All in all, it’s a fantastic soundtrack. I would listen to it if I were you.
As far as the movie goes, I was pleasantly surprised. I absolutely hated New Moon. It was too depressing and Bella’s obsession with Edward even after he had left her was very sickening. I think Bella is very stupid and I think Edward is very ugly. My feelings for Edward and Bella aside, I liked Eclipse a lot. The movie wasn’t just another adaptation of a popular book. It was the essence of the novel and they captured the emotions the book portrayed very well. I was extremely proud of Dakota Fanning playing the role of Jane. She was exactly as I imagined her when I read the books. The violence and romance were perfectly balanced. I also caught a humorous undertone in certain scenes. Perhaps that’s only because I can’t take Edward and Bella seriously. Our experience at the drive in wasn’t very great. We had to park in a bad spot because it was so crowded, their were people smoking pot around us, kids were running around everywhere and people were turning their headlights on and blinding us. Despite all the distractions, I really enjoyed the movie and I really would like to go see it again.
I found an article the other day that really irritated me. You just need to read it. Here it is.
Did you read it? Good.
Toy Story 3 is sexist? Are you kidding me? Whoever came up with that idea must have terrible morals. Can people not make a decent, kid friendly movie without it being ridiculed? The woman was complaining having too few girls in the movie. Just think about this for a second. Andy is a boy. Boys buy boy toys. What would that woman have said if Andy owned a lot of barbies? She accused Jessie of being driven by the desire to find love. Did anyone else get that impression? Some people just have to find fault in everything. It makes me sick.
That turned into a rant instead of a formal opinion. My apologies.
I received a spiritual spanking today at church. I went to Victory again and had a fantastic time with my friends. The youth pastor was fantastic. He hit the nail on the head and my eyes were opened. He spoke about how we lose our focus on God and think about the things he is doing or what he is not doing. That applies to my life because I have been looking around at things like my dad waiting for a job interview, our house selling, and where I am going to go to school. I worry about what God is going to do with all those things. I ask God, “What are you going to do for me? Are you going to give me the things I want?” I’m such a selfish person. God has already given me so much. Who am I to beg for more? All I do is whine. I should be reading my Bible or worshiping God, not begging him for little things. From here on out, I’ll live differently.
I think I’m going to get started on a new layout. I probably won’t publish it until the middle of July but Paint Shop Pro expires in a week so I think I should get started. I have to earn 80 dollars soon. If I don’t get the money before the 7 days are up, I’m going to use the trial of Photoshop. I’m kind of hoping that Photoshop will magically lower their outrageous price so that I can buy it but I doubt that will happen.
I think I have a migraine. I have never had one before so I don’t know exactly what it feels like but this is pretty painful and I’m exhausted. Sorry about the length of that blog, I obviously had a lot to talk about.

Dear Abbie,
I’m downloading the Eclipse soundtrack now.
I hated both Twilight and New Moon. I don’t like the books either, but the movies were worse. :P I agree with you; Bella is stupid and I don’t like Edward. I was not really interested to see Eclipse but I would like to see it now.
I haven’t watched Toy Story 3 so I don’t know much about it (I think I told you this before :P). But I don’t think a film like that could be sexist. It’s weird that that person thought that a film like that could be sexist. xD
I agree with you. I have also been feeling a little differently nowadays. I’ve been praying more and whining less nowadays.
My Photoshop CS 2 expires in a few days too. :( I have Photoshop 7 but still..I also hope that Adobe would decrease their price. :P
I’m sorry about your migraine. I know they can be very painful. :(
Thanks so much!
LOL. My mom is still mad at me about that. XD
My sister is actually 7 years older than me. But we do get along pretty well.
She mostly defends me but sometimes her attitude annoys me a lot so we fight often. :P
I would like to buy one too. I’ve been saving money but my parents wouldn’t let me buy one just now.
Thanks.
My sleeping habits are also becoming like that.
Your welcome.
I would love to see the new haircut you chose.

THESE PEOPLE ANGER ME! WHY trash TS3 and not the other two movies? And why trash it in the first place? It’s a kid’s movie! If any of what that lady said was true then it wouldn’t be a kid’s movie because they would have made those ideas apparent in the story!
I liked Eclipse a LOT! And trust me, I don’t like Rob Pattinson or Kristen Stewart, but as a genuine Twilight Saga book reader I cannot say that I like Jacob better, no matter how hot Lautner is… It’s just because he’s playing a character who was never really supposed to be anything in the first place and then ended up being some vile, annoying character with no thoughts about anyone but himself, even if his thoughts were wrong… And yes, Dakota Fanning did an amazing job, as did Bryce Dallas Howard!!
Way to be totally incognito about your reference to your friends from Victory, by the way =D
And, last but not least, good luck with the picture program and the migraine!!!

That Toy Story 3 article is ridiculous. I’ll admit that I haven’t seen it yet(though I can’t wait to), but if it’s anything like the first two then I cannot imagine it being in any way sexist. It’s a kid’s film, kids aren’t going to sit and work out the ratio of male:female characters and start living their life by it. It’s insane.
Hope you’re okay. I’ve never had a migraine either, but I’ve heard they hurt a lot, so yeah. *hugs*
…and I can’t really relate to anything else in this blog, not being a twilight fan and not being religious, so I’ll shut up. :P

I hate when I put off returning comments, they just seem to pile up. Don’t get me wrong, I love reading blogs and commenting, but when I feel I have so many I “must” do, it just sucks.
I actually don’t get to go camping this weekend. My dad so I couldn’t so, yeah. It was a bummer on my weekend. Now I get to spend it all with my mom since my dad and brother are going on fishing trip.
I’m pretty much the only in my house who does laundry. So if I put it off for too long, I have huge piles, that make me want to put it off even more. I love Eclipse. It was great (:

DUDEEE Toy Story 3 sexist!? Holy moley! what the heck?! The first thing I thought of when I saw it was “OMFG Andy is in college!” not “OMFG Jessie/Mrs. Potato Head/Barbie is….”
They are definitely reading into it too much. THEY ARE TOYS! Holy moley! TOYS! When critics start analyzing toy movie characters, I don’t know what to think!
Kids won’t look into the characters so much. They are going to enjoy the jokes, the action, and the lesson which is friendship. Jeez, I seriously closed down that article after I read the second paragraph! LOL
NOW, onto Twilight… <=)
So, I am part of the Harry Potter generation & I am not really into Twilight (read the first book, did not like it). I saw the first two movies and I am "eh" about it. Nothing special, honestly. The storyline is okay – human, vamp, and wolf. But nothing special. I am probably going to watch the third movie when it comes out on DVD or when it's available on PPV for $1.99 or something like that. I can wait (:
But I did see the trailers and I think this one is going to be better than the first two. I think the first one just killed me – nothing cool and eye-catching. The second one brought it up a bit, but again nothing special. The third one looks more "action-y" and appealing, so maybe I will enjoy this one.
P.S. I will not read the books. I will not read the books. If I did not enjoy the first one, I know I will not enjoy the rest of the series.
"I ask God, “What are you going to do for me? Are you going to give me the things I want?” I’m such a selfish person."
I just love that – I feel selfish at times also. It's horrible, but we are human beings and it is natural for us to feel selfish and greedy once in awhile. My pastor gave a homily similar to that. He said that if we want God to give us the things we want and if we want to live a life that is content and satisfactory, we have to get off our lazy butts and do something about it. Because God is not going to do anything for us unless we start to do it ourselves. Sounds okay and I agree – nothing is going to happen unless we take action! (that rhymed! LOL)
okay, I am going to stop now lol

July 1, 2010 12:27 pmDear Abbie,
I want to see Eclipse very badly but honestly I’d skip it just to see Breaking Dawn. I honestly hated Twilight and thought New Moon was just “okay” they didn’t end it on a very good note to me.
OMFG. I guess people can’t do anything without being critized. Like really, you make a good point. Andy is a boy so he would buy, boy toys and the Barbie wasn’t even his! Toy Story 3 is not sexist. It’s a freakin’ kid movie for goodness sake and anyway who would sit there watching it thinking the whole time how many boy/girl toys are in the movie. Get real, a kid surely wouldn’t be thinking about stuff like that..especially when they get older!
I never really thought about it like that. I think about stuff like “God, what are going to do for me today” too. I honestly take a lot that he does for me for granted and I should really rethink alot of things.

July 1, 2010 3:56 pmDear Abbie,
I’m glad you liked Eclipse, I think I’m going to see it on Sunday. It doesn’t come out here until the 9th of July but the advance screenings are on the 3rd and 4th. I don’t really like the Twilight movies but my friends love them so I’m going to tag along. Hopefully I’ll be pleasently suprised, like you were.
They always manage to find a way to turn something innocent into something that can be nasty. I’m not suprised about the Toy Story thing. I still want to see it. :P
You may have a migrane. When I get them it feels like there is a band wrapped around my brain and the veins inside my head are going to explode. It leaves you really tired so you might have one. :( I hope you feel better soon!

July 1, 2010 5:01 pmDear Abbie,
Ew, whoever wrote that about toy story is seriously messed in the head. I swear, people look WAYY TO MUCH into Disney movies just because they are for kids. I grew up with Disney movies and I don’t think any of the stuff that was in that article :/ It’s a load of bull.
Can’t you download photoshop? I got mine off limewire, haha. I bought my Paint Shop Pro, but then a few years ago I just searched PS so I didn’t have to buy it. If you do buy it tho, just get it off ebay.. it’s cheaper.
I do miss her now that she’s gone :( She left last night and it sucks because with everyone else going off to university, IDK when I’ll actually get to see her again </3
